Prince Harry has taken a step forward to highlight how challenging it can be for veterans who served in the military.

The 41-year-old Duke of Sussex voiced his concerns just days before Remembrance Sunday.

In his essay, The Bond, The Banter, The Bravery: What it means to be British By Prince Harry, he looks at his ten years in the military and the strong bond he continues to share with Britain.

Having served two deployments in Afghanistan, the former soldier penned the message for the men and women he once stood beside in the UK military.

Despite the Falklands, Iraq and Afghanistan wars being over and many veterans now living their retired lives, he insists their sacrifices must remain remembered.

Harry paid a special tribute to service members from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, recalling the pride he felt serving alongside people from so many communities across the nation.

"I've had the privilege of serving alongside men and women from all four corners of the UK; from Antrim to Anglesey, Lancashire to London, Wrexham to the East Riding, Belfast to Bedfordshire and beyond," he penned.

Continuing, "I saw courage and compassion in the harshest conditions imaginable."

But, the Duke also raised concerns about what veterans face and are treated after they leave the forces.

"But I also saw how easy it can be, once the uniform comes off, for those who gave everything, to feel forgotten," he stated.

In his essay, he stresses how service creates lifelong connections and strong bonds among people from every region and community in Britain.
