Scarlett Johansson’s hair crimping iron fail goes viral and continues to haunt her

Scarlett Johansson may be considered one of Hollywood’s most beautiful faces but even she has had her share of beauty blunders.

One of her most memorable hair mishaps happened at the 2004 Tony Awards in New York City.

The Eleanor the Great director later told People in 2019, “I wanted a hairstyle that looked like Jean Harlow’s.”

At just 19 years old, Johansson was already a rising star following her acclaimed performances in Lost in Translation and Girl with a Pearl Earring.

However, instead of achieving Harlow’s glamorous finger waves the Black Widow star ended up with a messy crumpling disaster.

She said, “It looked like a crimping iron. Basically, a crimping iron was taking a stand on my head. Yeah, it was electrical socket crazy.”

While hair crimping has made a comeback, Johansson’s early 2000s version was definitely a miss.

Those with heart shaped faces like the Lucy actress’ often look best with hairstyles that balance their proportions.

Because this face shape features a wide forehead and narrow chin as the volume is better placed near the chin rather than the upper half of the face.
