Miley Cyrus leads the week’s music releases with her new 'Avatar' soundtrack
Miley Cyrus’ new single Dream as One, featured on the Avatar: Fire and Ash soundtrack, has taken the top spot in this week’s fan-voted music poll.
Published on Friday, November 14, by Billboard as the poll saw music fans select the 32-year-old singer’s track as their favourite new release.
The song debuted during a busy week of fresh music which included new offerings from Summer Walker, Lewis Capaldi, Kelsea Ballerini and others.
Still, Cyrus led the pack as she earned 27% of the vote.
The film is a soaring ballad, co-written by Cyrus, Mark Ronson, Andrew Wyatt and Simon Franglen, the soundtrack’s composer, will play over the end credits of Avatar: Fire and Ash, the upcoming sequel to Avatar: The Way of Water.
Sharing her excitement upon the song’s release, Cyrus wrote, “Writing this song with Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt came straight from the heart.”
The Flowers hitmaker added, “Every lyric remembers where we’ve been, reflects where we are, and holds hope for what’s ahead for all of us and it was an honour to create something so personal for a film that connects so deeply with people around the world.”
For the unversed, Avatar: Fire and Ash is set to hit U.S. theatres on December 19.
Meanwhile, other new releases trailed just behind Miley Cyrus in the poll, Summer Walker’s Finally Over It earned 22% of the vote, followed by Lewis Capaldi’s Survive with 15%, and Kelsea Ballerini’s Mount Pleasant with 6%.
