Leonardo DiCaprio to be joined by Christian Bale in ‘Heat 2’

Leonardo DiCaprio is expected to be joined by Christian Bale in the highly anticipated sequel to Michael Mann’s celebrated action drama, Heat.

According to Deadline, “Michael Mann has his ‘Public Enemies’ star Christian Bale circling a major role alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in ‘Heat 2’.”

The sequel, which has already attracted major A-list interest for its casting options, will likely see DiCaprio and Bale step into the story which was famously carried by another iconic onscreen pairing of Robert De Niro and Al Pacino in 1995. Though the entertainment outlet further reported that “it was not immediately clear which role Bale will play.”

Heat 2 will be adapted by Michael Mann from the New York Times bestseller novel which he has co-authored with Meg Gardiner in his literary debut. However, the book “is not a novelization of the film; rather, it tells the story of everything that happens to the principal characters before and after the events of the original movie.”

While Heat had hit cinemas in December 1995, a release schedule for its sequel is not yet confirmed.
