Google’s latest stock surge has propelled Larry Page ahead of Amazon co-founder Jeff Bezos, reigniting one of tech’s most-watched wealth rivalries.

The Alphabet co-founder climbed to the position of the world’s third richest person after Google shares jumped sharply following the debut of its advanced AI model, Gemini 3.

The surge added roughly $7.6 billion to Page’s net worth in a single session, driven by Alphabet’s early-trading spike and his 3.2% stake in the company.

With a fortune now estimated at $234.8 billion, Page has edged past Jeff Bezos, whose net worth sits near $233.6 billion.

The shift reshapes Forbes’ top billionaire list, leaving Page just behind Elon Musk and Larry Ellison.

The surge reflects renewed investor confidence in Alphabet, powered by its strong third-quarter results.

Google crossed $100 billion in quarterly revenue, a 16% year-over-year rise, while Google Cloud posted an impressive 34% jump to $15.2 billion.

An unexpected $4.3 billion Berkshire Hathaway investment further buoyed market sentiment.

Much of the excitement centres around Gemini 3, Google’s new AI model touted for doctoral-level reasoning and a 74% performance boost over its predecessor.

Analysts noted that Gemini 3 strengthens Google’s position in the escalating AI race against OpenAI and Anthropic.
