Aaron Paul and his wife, Lauren Parsekian, have left Los Angeles and moved their family to Paris.

The Breaking Bad alum said the decision was driven by the recent, destructive wildfires in California.

While speaking to the Daily Mail at the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, Paul said the blazes made the choice simple.

“When the fires happened in LA, we just knew that we were done with LA, so we sold our house in LA and moved to Paris.”

The couple, who share two children, Story Annabelle and Ryden Caspian, told the outlet they were motivated by a desire to give the kids a different upbringing and to live within another culture.

“We went out there for the kiddos,” Paul said, adding that he and Lauren had “always dreamt of doing a year abroad.” After settling into Paris, the family is already considering extending that stay beyond a single year.

The Welcome Home actor praised Paris and joked that his French skills currently don’t go far beyond a simple “bonjour.” “Paris is awesome,” he told the outlet.

The relocation underscores a growing trend among some Californians, while for Paul, it’s a chance to pause, reset, and make a new start in the City of Lights.
