Eddie Murphy reveals iconic movies he regrets turning down
Murphy says picking 'Beverly Hills Cop' over 'Ghostbusters' was a matter of options
Eddie Murphy revealed he has a few regrets about his film career, sharing which iconic movies he wishes he had said yes to.
In a recent interview with The Associated Press, the 64-year-old Coming to America star named three films he passed on that he now wishes he had taken: 'Ghostbusters', 'Rush Hour', and 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit'.
“Yeah, there’s a couple of movies… Ghostbusters, I was supposed to do 'Ghostbusters'. Didn’t do that. And 'Rush Hour'. Didn’t do that. Oh, and 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit'. Those are my big three ‘wish I would have done’ movies,” Murphy said.
He explained that he chose 'Beverly Hills Cop' over 'Ghostbusters', calling it a matter of picking one project over another.
As for Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Murphy admitted, “It just sounded ridiculous to me, and I passed on it. And afterwards, I was like, ‘Oh, that’s f---ing amazing.’”
Despite missing out on these films, Murphy’s career remained hugely successful. He became a comedy icon with movies like The Nutty Professor and Dr. Dolittle.
He earned an Academy Award nomination for his performance in 2006’s Dreamgirls.
