A look into 50 Cent and Sean Diddy Combs' rivalry
Sean Diddy Combs and 50 Cent's, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, long-running feud has spanned nearly 20 years, and now, it’s reached its most dramatic chapter yet.
A docuseries has been made named Sean Combs: The Reckoning, which premiered on December 2 on Netflix, featuring exclusive interviews, industry accounts, and never-before-seen footage shot in the days leading up to the 56-year-old former rapper, record producer’s arrest.
Going back to the beginning of when their rivalry started: 50 released a diss track in 2006, The Bomb, in which he accused Combs of involvement in Notorious B.I.G.’s 1997 murder.
An allegation Combs has repeatedly denied.
Through the years, they fought over multiple things; they even clashed over rival vodka endorsements and uncomfortable personal encounters.
Their feud esclated dramatically 2024, when Combs’ homes were raided by the Department of Homeland Security in March amid multiple lawsuits accusing the rapper of sexually abusing and trafficking
However, Diddy denied all the allegations and was found not guilty by the court.
Since then, The In da club hitmaker has repeatedly spoken out, saying he had long suspected Combs; alleged misconduct. After the rapper's September 2024 arrest, he revealed that his documentary on the accusations was already in production for Netflix.
Calling the docuseries a decades-spanning story with “significant human impact,” told People in a statement.
"This is a story with significant human impact. It is a complex narrative spanning decades, not just the headlines or clips seen so far," 50 cent stated.
