Elon Musk has shared rare insight into his investment thinking
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has outlined his investing strategy, revealing the Mag 7 stocks he believes could dominate in the years ahead while also noting the “increasing convergence” between Tesla, SpaceX and xAI.
Speaking on Zerodha cofounder Nikhil Kamath’s "People by WTF" podcast, Musk said he doesn’t follow a traditional investor mindset.
“I don't look for things to invest in. I just try to build things, and then there happens to be stock in the company I built,” Musk explained, adding that he doesn’t maintain a formal portfolio.
"I don't think about 'should I invest in this company' and I don't have like a portfolio or anything," Musk stated.
However, Musk did highlight which Mag 7 players he sees as future heavyweights.
He noted that Google remains one of the most valuable long-term bets, praising the company for laying the groundwork for massive AI-driven value creation.
Musk also described Nvidia as an “obvious” winner, noting that firms focused on AI, robotics, and spaceflight could eventually dominate almost all global economic value.
During the conversation, Musk also emphasised the growing alignment between Tesla, SpaceX, and xAI, predicting a future powered by solar-driven AI satellites, a vision he says unites all three companies.
