Celebrities and legal troubles go hand in hand as if facing lawsuits, arrests, and other legal issues is part of their stardom.
In short, the territory of being a star comes with a heavy price; it’s like a double-edged sword, bringing both fame and scrutiny, with many facing legal issues, public attention and media pressure.
Just like last year, this year has seen many ugly, yet legal fights between high-profile actors, as well as celebrities getting into legal troubles on their own.
From Sean "Diddy" Combs' conviction for prostitution to Blake Lively vs Justin Baldoni case, the Hollywood industry had a fair share of scandals and wave of drama.
So, here’s a list of celebrities who made legal trouble in 2025:
Blake Lively vs Justin Baldoni
Lively vs Baldoni has been the biggest legal battle of 2025 so far! It all started last year in December when the 38-year-old actress sued his 41-year-old co-actor, alleging sexual harassment and retaliation during the filming of It Ends with Us.
According to her lawsuit, Baldoni created a hostile work environment and violated her boundaries, and he even started a smear campaign against her to damage her reputation.
In her lawsuit, the Gossip Girl alum is seeking $161 million in damages.
Baldoni did not stay quiet on the matter as he countersued his co-star and her husband Ryan Reynolds with a $400 million lawsuit, alleging defamation, civil extortion, and interference with contractual relations.
According to the Jane the Virgin alum, she tried to take control of his starrer movie, which he was also directing.
However, in October 2025, his case was officially dismissed by a US judge as he missed the deadline to appeal the dismissal.
Their case is still ongoing, with a trial scheduled for May 18, 2026.
Taylor Swift
The Fate of Ophelia singer’s fate doesn't seem to be very lucky when it comes to legal trouble.
Swift is currently facing legal trouble related to a resurfaced copyright lawsuit from Kimberly Marasco, who claims the popstar's lyrics across several albums like Lover, Folklore, Midnights, and The Tortured Poets Department copied her poetry.
The self-published poet is seeking $7 million in damages from the fiancé of Travis Kelce.
Kanye West
The controversial rapper landed in significant legal trouble throughout 2025, primarily involving multiple lawsuits related to alleged sexual harassment and abuse from former assistant Lauren Pisciotta.
The I Wonder hitmaker was also involved in case related to the unpaid taxes for which he reportedly faced over $365,000 in bills and penalties in early 2025.
Moreover, by July 2025, West, also known as Ye, was said to be denied an entry into Australia due to his history of antisemitic comments.
In short, the ex-husband of Kim Kardashian has a history of legal trouble, and 2025 is no exception!
Sean 'Diddy' Combs
Combs, one of the famous music moguls of Hollywood, once ruled the entertainment industry.
However, his downfall began in late 2023 when his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, sued the 55-year-old rapper for alleged physical and sexual assault.
Although Combs apparently got away with the claims as he vehemently denied, and settled the case, accusing Combs of sexual harassment.
However, this wasn't the end of it as the real trouble for Combs actually began after Ventura's case.
According to The Guardian, more than 120 additional accusers came forward and accused the disgraced music mogul of sexual misconduct, sex trafficking, and rape.
The allegations span decades, with some dating back to the 1990s.
In September 2024, Combs was indicted by a jury and arrested on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering.
In July 2025, he was convicted on two counts and was sentenced to 50 months in prison and a $500,000 fine.
The Bad Boy founder is expected to be released from prison in May 2028.
Rihanna's A$AP Rocky
A$AP Rocky, the partner of Rihanna, with whom he shares three children, faced legal trouble in 2025 related to a 2021 shooting incident.
For a quick recall, the incident involved a confrontation with former friend A$AP Relli, who claimed Rocky fired a gun that grazed his knuckle
In 2022, the 37-year-old rapper was charged with two counts of felony assault with a semiautomatic firearm and faced up to 24 years in prison if convicted.
However, in February 2025, A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, was found not guilty.
