Queen Camilla will not be able to spend the upcoming Christmas with her two children, her son has confirmed.

The Daily Mail’s columnist Richard Eden wrote that while the Queen had “pleaded” that Tom Parker Bowles and Laura Lopes join the royal family’s holiday celebrations at Sandringham last year, following King Charles’ cancer diagnosis, the siblings have decided to sit out this year’s gathering.

“I’m not [spending Christmas at Sandringham]. Nor is my sister. It’ll be every other year, one year on, one year off,” Camilla’s son told Eden.

While discussing his conversation with the Queen Consort last year, Tom said, “My mum said, ‘I’d love you to come, I haven’t had Christmas with you for a long time.’”

Tom Parker Bowles further revealed that it has been “a hell of a two years” for Queen Camilla and King Charles, adding, “The older you get, the more conscious you become of mortality, especially with illnesses and the rest of it.”

For context, the King was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer in 2024 and following a brief sabbatical from his public life, Charles is understood to still be recovering from the condition.
