The Rock writes heartfelt note after earning first Globe nomination on social media
Dwayne Johnson recently shared his heartfelt reaction to his first-ever Golden Globe nomination for The Smashing Machine role.
The Rock turned to Instagram on December 9 and posted few special moments from the movie that made him earned this prestigious nomination.
Calling it to be “the most surreal and humbling day” of his acting career, the Red Notice actor thanked Golden Globes for “this incredibly inspiring honour and acknowledgment of the story we told and souls we bared”.
“What a privilege to be included with such an insane cadre of artists whose extraordinary performances all have raised the standard,” wrote the 53-year-old actor in the caption.
Dwayne noted, “Getting the opportunity to live in the skin of Mark Kerr was the most life changing and beautiful experience of my career.”
Moana 2 actor also expressed his gratitude to Mark for “trusting” him with his story and ultimately, “trusting me with his life”.
The wrestler-turned-actor also celebrated his “brother and fearlessly empathetic director” Benny Safdie for giving him this role.
Dwayne also congratulated his co-star Emily Blunt for the nomination, saying, “I count my lucky stars to have the greatest scene partner of all time, Emily, whose RAW, heart wrenching, and lived in performance as Dawn Staples, moves us all to aching tears.”
In the end, The Rock also praised Kazu Hiro for “transformative, prosthetic make-up” and all of the Smashing Machine crew “who truly became a family and left it all on the screen”.
The Jungle Cruise actor admitted, “This experience was life changing and unlocking.”
“Thank you to ALL OF YOU for walking down this road with me on this wild and unpredictable journey of life… and art,” concluded Dwayne.
Meanwhile, The Rock’s fans showered their love in the comment section.
One said, “I'm rooting for you and Emily Blunt, and may you win the Oscars, you deserve it!”
