‘Stranger Things’ Season Five started streaming on Netflix November 26
The first volume of Stranger Things Season Five is still reigning high on Netflix’s viewership charts, surpassing the streamer’s more recent release, Sean Combs: The Reckoning.
According to Variety, the series which garnered 59.6 million views within the first five days of its debut and suffered a significant drop to 23.6 million views in its sophomore week, still “remained the most-watched TV title of the week for Dec. 1-7.”
“Additionally, all four previous seasons made the Netflix Top 10 for the third week in a row, with their combined total hitting 26.2 million views — up one million from the week before,” the outlet further reported, with the latest result being an indication of the show “bringing return fans and newcomers to the franchise as a whole.”
On the other hand, the latest docuseries on Sean “Diddy” Combs debuted on Netflix with 21.8 million views across its first six days — becoming Netflix’s second most-viewed title after Stranger Things.
Based on the exploration of the imprisoned music mogul’s life and career, leading up to his notorious case, the non-fiction project is executive produced by 50 Cent and dropped on the streaming platform December 2.
Meanwhile, Stranger Things Volume 2 will premiere with four new episodes of its fifth season on December 25, with the show’s final episode arriving in theatres and on Netflix December 31.
