Amanda Seyfried shares details about her 'Mamma Mia 3' Character
Amanda Seyfried talks about her character during the premiere event in LA
Amanda Seyfried shared how she imagines her beloved Mamma Mia! character’s next chapter.
Speaking exclusively with PEOPLE at the Los Angeles premiere of The Testament of Ann Lee on December 14, the actress opened up about Sophie's life if Mamma Mia 3 ever made.
The 40-year-old actress, who is herself a mom of two, said, “Oh, with kids. I mean, I love being a mother, I love playing a mother, and I would love to dive into the curiosities of motherhood and raising children on a Greek island — just like Donna did with Sophie.”
Reflecting on a possible storyline, the Mean Girls star added, “I think that would be really interesting. I have no idea where the story is going to go, but I know there’s going to be a lot of singing and dancing.”
The Housemaid actress also made it clear she’s fully on board for another sequel, saying, “I’m going to keep campaigning for that movie until I’m blue in the face.”
Moreover, according to producer Judy Craymer, a script for Mamma Mia 3, which would follow 2018’s Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, has already been completed and remains in development.
“Well, we know what we want to do with the movie, and it will happen,” the producer told Deadline in May.
Judy Craymer also hinted that pop star Sabrina Carpenter could potentially join the cast alongside Amanda Seyfried and Meryl Streep.
For the unversed, Meryl memorably portrayed Sophie’s mother, Donna, in the 2008 musical romantic comedy.
