Jimmy Kimmel takes over British television to deliver this year’s ‘Alternative Christmas Message’
Jimmy Kimmel will deliver Channel 4’s annual ‘Alternative Christmas Message’
Jimmy Kimmel is set to participate in this year’s broadcast of Channel 4’s Alternative Christmas Message.
The late night host will reportedly address the brief cancellation of his talk show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which was taken off-air following his commentary on Charlie Kirk’s murder in September.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 58-year-old comedian’s televised monologue will include the remark, “From a fascism perspective, this has been a really great year.”
“Kimmel’s address will follow the tradition of other topical presenters delivering the message, including the President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad; whistle-blower Edward Snowden; and Afghan war veteran Major Andrew Stockton,” the report added.
Channel 4’s annual broadcast was inaugurated in 1993 and “typically provides a contrasting, often challenging, viewpoint to the monarch’s annual televised address.”
Jimmy Kimmel’s Alternative Christmas Message will air via the British network on Christmas Day, December 25.
