Will the Michael Jackson biopic finally release on time or face another delay?

It seems like an unexpected yet desirable thing is finally happening, and our beloved music pop star Michael Jackson’s biopic might finally release this time.

But Gossip Herald has some concerns to talk about!

After multiple hurdles, the biopic movie, which stars the late pop star’s own nephew Jaafar Jackson will portray him is set to hit theatres in April 2026.

But it does seem that easy as it seems.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua, the teaser for the biopic titled Michael dropped in November 2025 and its 24-second clip created a buzz in no time.

The teaser featured his nephew recreating Michael’s iconic dance moves and performances, and multiple songs such as Billie Jean and Wanna Be Startin' Somethin.

The teaser alone broke so many records and garnered a 116.2 million views in just 24 hours, making it the most-watched music biopic trailer ever. 

It also break the record of most-viewed trailer for any concert film in history, surpassing the record previously held by Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour which was 96.1 million views.

However, the teaser trailer also faced hurdles; many social media users criticised it, saying that it only foccused on Michael Jackson's career and life with no mention of the allegations of sexual abuse.

Even, the King of Pop’s daughter Paris Jackson has publicly criticised the upcoming biopic, calling it "dishonest," "sugar-coated," and full of "full-blown lies".

These elements could put the fate of biopic movie in jeopardy, leading to a further delay but on a bright side, there is no official announcement regarding any of it.

So we hope that audience get to watch Michael on silver screen next year on April 24, 2026.
