Nicolas Cage and Christian Bale look nearly unrecognisable in first teaser for ‘Madden’

The first teaser for Madden, directed by David O. Russell, stars Nicolas Cage as the titular coach and Christian Bale as the Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis.

Based upon the story of John Madden, longtime coach for the Raiders and a subsequent sports commentator, the upcoming sports biopic “will serve as more of an origin story of Madden NFL, one of the biggest video game franchises of all time,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In the newly released teaser, Bale as Davis sets up the introduction for Cage as Madden, saying, “There’s only one John Madden. They didn’t make another one.”

The cast also includes John Mulaney, Kathryn Hahn, Sienna Miller, and comedian Shane Gillis.

Distributed by Amazon Prime Video, Madden will release on Thanksgiving 2026, while no details for a theatrical release are known as of yet.
