Elon Musk publicly congratulates Donald Trump following major Venezuela development

Elon Musk has publicly congratulated US President Donald Trump after reports emerged that Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro was captured during a US-led military operation.

Taking to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the SpaceX CEO praised the US president for what he described as a significant global moment.

“Congratulations, President Trump! This is a win for the world and a clear message to evil dictators everywhere,” Musk wrote.

According to reports, US forces carried out a rapid deployment operation in Venezuela on January 3, which resulted in the capture of Maduro along with his wife, Cilia Flores. 

The development has sparked strong international reactions, with Musk emerging as one of the most vocal supporters of the move.

Alongside his political remarks, Musk also announced practical support for Venezuelans through Starlink, SpaceX’s satellite internet service. 

Quoting an official Starlink post, Musk said the company would provide free high-speed internet access across Venezuela until February 3.

“Starlink is providing free broadband service to the people of Venezuela through February 3, ensuring continued connectivity,” he wrote, calling the move as a support for citizens during a period of political transition.

Musk has long criticised Maduro’s leadership and has repeatedly voiced support for political change in Venezuela.
