Jacob Elordi marked a major career milestone at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards.

The 28-year-old actor received the Best Supporting Actor award for his performance in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein at the January 4 ceremony held in Santa Monica, California, making it his first major acting win.

Elordi was recognised for his portrayal of the Creature in del Toro’s highly acclaimed adaptation of the classic novel by Mary Shelley.

“Bloody hell. I really didn't plan for it,” the Saltburn star said as he began his acceptance speech and went on to praise the film’s director.

“Thank you, Guillermo del Toro. I love you. We all love you. You made my dreams when I was 11. I'm so happy to be here,” he added.

The Kissing Booth actor also expressed gratitude to his parents during the emotional moment.

Notably, Elordi faced strong competition in the category with fellow nominees including Benicio del Toro (One Battle After Another), Paul Mescal (Hamnet), Sean Penn (One Battle After Another), Adam Sandler (Jay Kelly) and Stellan Skarsgård (Sentimental Value).

Jacob Elordi stars alongside Oscar Isaac and Mia Goth in Frankenstein, which follows the tragic journey of the Creature, Victor Frankenstein’s scientific creation, and when the being fails to meet his creator’s expectations, he is abandoned and left to navigate an unfamiliar world.
