Ahead of the 83rd Golden Globe Awards, the organisation is set to honour Sarah Jessica Parker and Helen Mirren with two prestigious special awards.

A special event titled Golden Eve: The Golden Globes Honour is set to celebrate the two stars and is scheduled to air on Thursday, January 8 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS with streaming available on Paramount+.

According to Deadline, the ceremony was held on Tuesday, January 6, at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.

During the event, Mirren received the Cecil B. DeMille Award which recognises outstanding contributions to the entertainment industry while Parker was honoured with the Carol Burnett Award for achievements in television.

Harrison Ford is set to present Mirren with her award along with a special appearance by last year’s honouree, Viola Davis and Parker will be joined by previous Carol Burnett Award winner Ted Danson.

Several well known figures were in attendance, including Colman Domingo, Sex and the City co-star Kristin Davis, Vin Diesel, Tessa Thompson and Carol Burnett herself.

Other guests included Amanda Seyfried, Ego Nwodim, Lisa Ann Walter, Walton Goggins and many more.

For the unversed, first introduced in 1952 as the Cecil B. DeMille Award has been given to 69 recipients over the years, including Barbra Streisand, Oprah Winfrey, Robert Redford, Sidney Poitier and Walt Disney.

The 83rd Golden Globe Awards will air live on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBS and stream on Paramount+.

Comedian Nikki Glaser will return as host for the second year in a row, with Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner serving as executive producing show runners.
