Leonardo DiCaprio stays silent on mystery Golden Globes chat that went viral

Leonardo DiCaprio remains tight-lipped about the person he was chatting with in an entertaining Golden Globes clip that quickly gained online fame.

“It was directed to a friend, but at the end of the day, who knows if this other person that I was talking to wants me to even mention their name?” the "Titanic" actor shared with Deadline in a Thursday report.

“So, as the lead character says in ‘A Bronx Tale,’ I’m not a rat.”

The star — who was up for a Best Actor Oscar for “One Battle After Another” — went viral after engaging someone during a break at the 2026 Golden Globes on January 11.

“I was watching you when the K-Pop thing,” DiCaprio, 51, whispered to someone across the venue at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

“You were like, ‘Is that — who is that?’ You were like, ‘Who is that … who’s that guy? K-pop?’” The “Shutter Island” actor clapped and laughed during the scene, though only his part was captured.

His “One Battle After Another” co-star Teyana Taylor initially claimed involvement in the conversation but later corrected that assertion.

“He was definitely speaking to me! Absolutely!” the “All’s Fair” actress, 35, told Access Hollywood.

“The crazy part about it is I am so blacked out from that day, that I want to say we might have been talking about ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ because I was so happy when they won because my kids love ‘KPop Demon Hunters,’ so I was over there just jamming, and I think he caught me jamming.”

Taylor later clarified that DiCaprio had been signalling to someone else at Hollywood’s premier event of the year.

“I was like, ‘You can’t be talking to me, were you talking to me?’ Because I already told people you was talking to me,” she admitted during an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

“So apparently he had two ‘KPop Demon Hunter’ conversations that night, so ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ was just in his mouth all night.”

“And I’m like ‘Who else is you kekeing with like that?’ Because literally that’s how we talk,” she said, referring to DiCaprio’s animated actions during the exchange.

Taylor admitted to feeling "a bit of friendly envy" upon realising the renowned actor wasn't speaking to her in the viral video.

“I was like ‘Who else are you chewing your invisible gum with?'” she mentioned. “He didn’t even remember who he was talking to. He was like, ‘I don’t even know.'”
