Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s son, Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt, made an uncommon appearance on the red carpet.

The 22-year-old posed for photos at the Self Custody film screening on Friday (January 23), alongside filmmaker Garrett Patten and producer Fernando Ferro.

Dressed in a red plaid overshirt, Pax was seen chatting with the creators behind the film, featuring Adrian Grenier, before heading out to a celebration at the Park City, Utah, festival.

Pax has been interested in the movie industry since Jolie and Pitt adopted him in the early 2000s.

During his childhood, he attended the 2018 Golden Globes and appeared on the red carpet at the premiere of Jolie’s 2019 movie Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.

He also had a small role in Jolie’s 2014 film Maleficent and lent his voice to the character Yoo in his mother's 2016 movie Kung Fu Panda 3, but Jolie mentioned her son's real interest lies behind the camera.

“None of my kids have aspirations to be actors,” she mentioned to BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour in 2016. “I think they're fascinated by the film-making process rather than performing.”

In 2019, she shared with Extra, “[Movies are] part of what they do but it doesn't consume their lives in a way that's unhealthy. It's just something they enjoy.”

The Oscar-winner also noted to Woman’s Hour that music might be a part of Pax’s path. “They are truly keen on music,” Jolie commented. “Pax has a passion for music and enjoys deejaying," she remarked.

Pax was born in Vietnam on November 29, 2003, spending his initial years at the Tam Binh Orphanage near Ho Chi Minh City.

Jolie adopted him in 2007, and Pitt also formally adopted him in 2008, due to adoption rules making it tough for unmarried couples.
