Jennifer Garner reveals shocking ear-biting stunt mishap
The 'Deadpool & Wolverine' actress recalls a shocking incident that occurred while filming The Kingdom
Jennifer Garner has shared a shocking behind-the-scenes story from her 2007 action thriller The Kingdom, admitting that she accidentally bit a stunt performer’s ear while filming.
The 53-year-old actress told reporters that the stunt sequence, directed by Peter Berg, called for improvised action. “Pete Berg, who was the director, told him to try to kill me.
We did not have a lot of choreography, and he told me to do anything I could to survive,” Garner explained. “He did, and I did, and I ended up scrambling onto his back. I bit his ear, and we have a picture of him missing a chunk of ear, because we were not kidding.”
Garner compared her stunt mishap to Mike Tyson’s infamous 1997 boxing match with Evander Holyfield. “Don’t make me mad. I seem nice. I’ve warned you before,” she joked.
The actress also recently recalled another moment of unexpected misadventure at San Diego Comic-Con in 2024, when she became trapped in an elevator for over an hour while promoting her appearances in Deadpool and Wolverine.
Sharing the ordeal on Instagram, Garner humorously called for superhero assistance: “Hey, guys, we’re stuck on this elevator. I could use a Wolverine; I could use a Deadpool. I could use someone.”
She described waiting to be rescued as a tense, yet comedic experience. “I’m schvitzy, and I need to blot. ‘Don’t cut the blue wire’ is what we’re hearing,” Garner wrote, referencing her nervous anticipation during the delay.
