Kim Kardashian opens up about her relationship with ex Kanye West

Kim Kardashian has opened up about the current status of her relationship with ex-husband Kanye West.

The SKIM founder briefly addressed her relationship with the rapper in a new interview with Complex published Thursday, February 5, saying that despite their split, their bond as co-parents remains intact.

“We’ll always be family,” Kardashian said when asked about promoting West’s Yeezy boots in a January TikTok. “We both know that. We will be okay, and there’s so much love for our family. We want what’s best for our kids.”

Kardashian and West, who first met in 2012 and married in 2014, finalized their divorce in 2022 after Kardashian filed the year prior. They share four children: North, 12, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 6.

Addressing the Yeezy mention directly, Kardashian explained that her decision to highlight the boots wasn’t complicated. “I couldn’t deny the Yeezy heel, so I had to shout it out,” she said.

In the TikTok filmed during an Aspen trip, Kardashian styled an outfit with the boots and praised their design, telling viewers, “There’s nothing like a Yeezy heel. I don’t know if they ever made these or just made them for me.”

Her comments come after Kardashian has been increasingly candid about the emotional strain she’s faced navigating her ex-husband’s public controversies. 

On an October 2025 episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians, she described feeling “very tested” while prioritizing her children’s well-being amid West’s erratic behavior.

“My job as a mom is to just make sure that at a time when that behavior is happening, my kids are protected,” she said at the time. “They’re going to grow up. They’re going to see.”

West publicly apologized in January for his past antisemitic remarks and erratic conduct in an open letter published in The Wall Street Journal, attributing his behavior to bipolar disorder. 

Kim has previously shared that the stress surrounding their situation has taken a toll on her health, revealing in a September episode of The Kardashians that she was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm that doctors suggested may have been stress-related. Despite the challenges, Kardashian has remained clear about her priorities.

“My ex will be in my life no matter what,” she said in a previous episode. “We have four kids together.”

She later added that while she encourages a relationship between West and their children, it must be a healthy one. “My only focus and job,” Kardashian said, “is really just to be strong for my kids.”
