Ben Affleck brought together a lineup of beloved 1990s sitcom stars for Dunkin’s latest Super Bowl commercial, delivering a nostalgic twist on his Oscar-winning film Good Will Hunting.

The ad, titled Good Will Dunkin’, aired during the Super Bowl broadcast on Sunday, Feb. 8, and featured appearances from Friends alums Jennifer Aniston and Matt LeBlanc, alongside Cheers star Ted Danson, Seinfeld’s Jason Alexander and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’s Alfonso Ribeiro.

Affleck, who has fronted Dunkin’ campaigns in recent years, leaned into the parody by wearing a blond wig reminiscent of Matt Damon’s hairstyle in the 1997 film.

The commercial opens with the tongue-in-cheek message: “Before the movie, a much better version of Good Will Hunting was made as a sitcom with a real genius in the lead and some other actors.”

Set inside a Dunkin’ store, the sketch plays out like a fictional lost ’90s pilot. LeBlanc appears in a wig and outfit nodding to his iconic Friends character, Joey Tribbiani, while Affleck delivers the character’s signature “How you doin’?” to actress Jasmine Guy.

When Ribeiro’s character points to a photo of Aniston and asks about Affleck’s girlfriend, the actor quips, “We’re on a break!” a direct reference to one of Friends’ most famous storylines.

Aniston later appears at the drive-thru window sporting Rachel Green-inspired hair, introducing her boyfriend, revealed to be former NFL quarterback Tom Brady.

Jason Alexander later told Esquire that the concept was pitched as if Good Will Hunting had originally been a failed sitcom pilot. He added that the cast was told they would be digitally de-aged to resemble their 1990s selves.

“They added hair pieces that resemble, I’ll laughably say, my hairline in the ’90s,” Alexander joked. “I look younger. God bless them, they got me back to my thirties.”

Despite many of the stars not having worked together before, Alexander said the group quickly fell into rhythm. “It was as if we all knew the drill and had done it before,” he said. “It was comfortable.”
