Lady Gaga, Ricky Martin celebrate Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime feature
Bunny's Super Bowl halftime show featured special guests like Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin
Bad Bunny‘s Super Bowl halftime show featured some very special guests, with Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin stealing the spotlight.
Both artists showered the King of Latin Trap with appreciation and affection for including them in the joy-filled performance.
“They need to give me several hours to allow me to understand the tsunami of emotions that I’m feeling,” Martin said in Spanish on Instagram. He shared images of him alongside Bunny and Gaga, as well as a video where he and his fellow Boricua artist embraced for photos.
The significance of Martin's performance — covering the poignant anti-colonial anthem "LO QUE LE PASÓ A HAWAii" — is profound.
As one of the top-selling Latin pop artists, he helped pave the path for the next wave of Spanish-language music featuring artists like Bunny.
Gaga, on the other hand, took to social media to share her excitement about the surprise stage appearance, where she delivered a vibrant salsa version of her hit "Die With a Smile."
Dressed in a stunning baby-blue outfit adorned with a custom flor de maga brooch, representing Puerto Rico's national flower, she performed with a spirited band and dancers fresh from a real wedding that occurred just before her set.
"It was an absolute honor to be part of Benito's halftime show. Thank you, Benito, for having me, and thanks to the entire crew for the warm welcome. I wouldn't have missed it for anything," she expressed on Instagram, accompanying a clip of the performance.
In a follow-up post, along with pictures of herself with Bunny and Martin, she added: "Thank you, Benito, for including me in this significant and meaningful show. I'm truly humbled to join this moment. It was even more special being with you, your wonderful music, and kind heart. All my love to Benito, Ricky, and the whole team. Thanks to @chloeandchenelle and @luar for my gorgeous styling and fashion. Your talent and love brought this beautiful dress to life."
Gaga's performance was a fan favourite, adding a new layer to her viral interaction with Bunny at last week's Grammys, where they shared an adorable moment during the event.
Delivering a medley of hits both classic and new — from "Safaera" to "Tití Me Preguntó" to the favourite "DtMF" — Bunny commanded the halftime stage for over 13 minutes.
The show transitioned from the jíbaro-lined sugarcane fields to his iconic Casita, packed with celebrity cameos including Jessica Alba and Pedro Pascal, as well as collaborators Karol G, Young Miko, and Cardi B.
