Jennifer Garner has shared that her most recent text to ex-husband Ben Affleck was about their children a reflection of their steady co-parenting bond.

While promoting Season 2 of The Last Thing He Told Me, Garner was asked by Extra about her most recent message to Affleck, also 53.

“I texted a kid thing to Ben… a pick-up/drop-off, kid-information to Ben,” she said.

The former couple, who divorced in 2018 after 10 years of marriage, share three children: Violet, 20, Seraphina, 17, and Samuel, 13.

Since announcing their separation in 2015, both have consistently emphasized their commitment to peaceful co-parenting.

Garner also revealed the last message she sent to her son was equally heartfelt and straightforward: “That I’ve loved him and I’ll see him tonight. Have a great day at school.”

In past interviews, the actress has reflected on how time helped her navigate the emotional aftermath of her divorce.

Speaking to Marie Claire, Garner admitted that the most difficult part wasn’t public scrutiny but the private reality of change.

“It doesn’t serve me to take in gossip about myself or anyone else, much less my kids, so I don’t do it,” she said. “But what was out there was not what was hard. The fact of it is what was hard. The actual breaking up of a family is what was hard. Losing a true partnership and friendship is what was hard.”

Over the years, she has spoken warmly about rebuilding that friendship.

“That I’m able to co-parent at this point in time with peace and equanimity and a partnership that I didn’t know I would ever get back to,” she said. “Time is the opportunity to heal. Time is the opportunity to forgive, to move on and to find a new way to be friends.”
