Authorities continue to investigate the disappearance of the young girl, Genesis Reid, who vanished earlier this week from her home in Alabama.

The disappearance was reported at approximately 3am on Monday (February 16), by her 33-year-old mom, Adrienne Reid, as PEOPLE previously reported, according to officials.

Adrienne was detained and charged with providing false reports to law enforcement the next day after officials pointed out "inconsistencies" in her recount, as stated in a press release.

On Wednesday (February 18), Coffee County District Attorney James Tarbox announced in a news conference that Adrienne is the "only identified suspect" in this investigation.

"Adrienne Reid is the solitary individual who knows where Genesis Reid is," he remarked, mentioning her cash-only bail was set at a million dollars upon her video appearance before a judge on Tuesday.

He declined to specify reasons but indicated they suspect the mother might be a "flight risk" if released.

Tarbox noted if bail is met, Adrienne would be required to undergo GPS monitoring and participate in a court-mandated program involving active drug tests.

Moreover, she would need to check in daily at the Enterprise Police Department and remain within Coffee County without court approval.

She is presently held at the Coffee County Jail and has requested legal representation from the court.

As per the police, in Adrienne’s initial account given on Monday, she claimed “the child was missing, and the front door of their residence was found open.”

Police noted, "the initial search of the nearby vicinity yielded no information on the child’s location” and “as the case developed, investigators noticed discrepancies in the provided details, leading to a more thorough inquiry.”
