Jennifer Garner has opened up about a friendship that has stood the test of time.

The 53-year-old actress has revealed that longtime friend and former co-star Judy Greer has “carried” her through the past two decades, describing their bond as one rooted in shared history, growth and unwavering support.

Garner and Greer first formed their connection while playing on-screen frenemies in the 2004 romantic comedy 13 Going on 30

Since then, their friendship has endured both personally and professionally, most recently bringing them back together on Apple TV+’s The Last Thing He Told Me.

“Judy and I have been friends ever since 13 Going on 30. There’s such a lovely shorthand. You don’t erase the history that you have with someone,” Garner told Metro, reflecting on their 20-year bond.

“She’s carried me through the last 20 years, and I’ve a little bit carried her,” she added. “I’ve watched her evolve into a more and more formidable, stronger, deadlier actress. To be on the other side of her in these scenes really asked me to up my game. I was thrilled to have that opportunity.”

In the second season of The Last Thing He Told Me, Garner reprises her role as Hannah, a woman whose life unravels after her husband mysteriously disappears.

As the suspense deepens, Greer joins the cast as Quinn, the eldest daughter of the Campano crime family, bringing a darker edge to the story.

Garner praised the dynamic of sharing intense scenes with another woman, noting how rare and meaningful the experience felt.

“I get to do that with Nikolaj, but it’s usually you’re with a man to do that. With another woman, it’s really special,” she said, referring to co-star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

Based on the bestselling novel by Laura Dave, the series follows Hannah as she uncovers layers of deception surrounding her husband’s true identity, placing her and her family in increasing danger.

Garner described the new season as “more of the same, deeper, better,” praising Dave’s sequel for expanding the emotional and narrative stakes.
