Hulu is in the process of developing The Kids from S.I.P.P.Y., an animated action-comedy series crafted by writer-producers Branson Reese and Nicole Silverberg, as reported by Deadline.

Produced by 20th Television Animation, the storyline follows a trio of awkward yet intelligent high school freshmen who find themselves recruited into a top-secret spy academy.

Besides Reese and Silverberg, Steven Fisher and Trevor Engelson are on board to executive produce for Underground, along with Patrick Newman of Mosaic and Tovah Silbermann.

Hulu is currently on an animation roll. Recently, they added Deano, a 30-minute adult animated comedy crafted by creators Dean Thomas and David Ferrier, to their lineup.

Additionally, they revealed plans for Swap Meet, another 30-minute animated comedy featuring comedian Ralph Barbosa, who will also serve as an executive producer with writer Isaac Gonzalez.

Writer and actor Reese, originally from the capital and now based in LA, is also a talented cartoonist.

He brought to life and starred in the FX animated series Swan Boy, inspired by his popular comic.

You can hear his voice as Frank Lloyd Light on PBS Kids’ City Island, and he takes on the role of supervising producer for the new Netflix animated comedy Strip Law, where he also provides voices for various characters.

His writing credits include work on We Bare Bears and Oh My God Yes, he founded the D&D podcast Rude Tales of Magic, and authored the comic book collection Hell Was Full.

Silverberg, a talented writer and comedian from Tucson, AZ, has earned Emmy nominations and a WGA Award.

She recently worked on a comedy project at NBC with The Lonely Island. Prior to that, she created Bad Crimes, an animated comedy series for Netflix produced by Greg Daniels and Mike Judge.

Silverberg held the role of supervising writer at Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, where she received a GLAAD Award, and she was also a long-term editor at the satirical online magazine, Reductress.

This February, Underground introduced its latest Netflix adult animated comedy series, Strip Law.

They have also recently declared the development of Anchivo Motors, an adult animated series from Brett Cawley & Robert Maitia, which they will produce.
