Sean Diddy Combs is set for an early release from prison while his appeal of a four-year sentence proceeds.

The music mogul’s release date has been moved up from June 4, 2028, to April 25, 2028, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

The adjustment comes after Combs was accepted into a residential drug-abuse rehabilitation program in November 2025.

A spokesperson for Combs said he “has taken his rehabilitation process seriously from the start” and is “fully engaged in his work, focused on growth, and committed to positive change.”

Combs’ sentence had previously been adjusted. In November 2025, his term at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution in New Jersey was extended from May 8, 2028, to June 4, 2028, following alleged violations of prison rules.

In December 2025, Combs filed an appeal seeking immediate release and either a reversal of his conviction or a reduced sentence.

Court filings argue that prosecutors failed to prove their case, while his attorneys maintained the original sentence was excessively harsh and unconstitutional. Prosecutors opposed the appeal in February.

Combs, 55, has been in custody since his arrest in September 2024 on charges including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

He was found guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution but acquitted of the other charges.
