Jennifer Lopez celebrates women after discussing challenges post-divorce

Jennifer Lopez shared an emotional message on social media after recently opening up about the challenges she faced following her separation from Marc Anthony.

On March 8, the singer and actress marked International Women’s Day with a heartfelt Instagram post honoring the women who have supported and inspired her throughout her life.

“Here’s to the women who paved the way, the women walking beside us, and the next generation rising with courage and conviction,” Lopez wrote. “Your strength, love and resilience shape the world in ways big and small.”

The On the Floor hitmaker also expressed gratitude to the women who stood by her during some of the most difficult periods of her life.

“Today I’m honouring some of the women who came before me, the ones who stand beside me and the young women already stepping into their power and changing the future,” she continued. 

“Happy International Women’s Day. I love you all. Tag a woman who inspires you and let her know the impact she’s had on your life.”

Lopez’s message came shortly after she spoke candidly about her personal struggles following her split from Anthony. 

During her Las Vegas residency show on March 6, the singer recalled a time when she nearly gave up amid the pressures of balancing motherhood and her career.

“I was really about to give up on it all,” Lopez told the audience. “I mean, I was a single mom with two 3-year-old twins.”

Lopez and Anthony finalized their divorce in June 2014 after several years of marriage. The former couple share 18-year-old twins, Max and Emme.
