Rihanna increases security after Beverly Hills shooting leaves family unharmed

Rihanna has reportedly increased her personal security after gunfire struck her Beverly Hills property while she and her family were inside.

According to reports, the 38-year-old singer was at her Los Angeles home on March 8 when at least 10 shots were fired at the mansion. Police later arrested a suspect identified as 35-year-old Ivanna Ortiz in connection with the incident.

Sources told Page Six that the shocking episode has left the singer shaken and prompted her to take additional precautions. 

One insider claimed Rihanna has tightened security measures and even rescheduled an upcoming photo shoot following the shooting.

Another source said the singer was confused when the gunfire first erupted.

“Rihanna heard the shots, but was initially confused about what happened,” the insider said, adding that the situation was “terrifying,” although everyone inside the home was unharmed.

The Grammy-winning artist shares the property with her longtime partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, and their children — RZA, Riot, and baby Rocki.

Authorities allege the suspect fired multiple rounds from a white Tesla before fleeing the scene. 

The vehicle was later located in a parking lot in Sherman Oaks, where Ortiz was taken into custody.

The case is currently being handled by the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery–Homicide Division, and Ortiz is reportedly facing an attempted murder charge.

Investigators are also examining social media posts allegedly made by the suspect prior to the shooting that appeared to target the singer.

Despite the frightening ordeal, sources say Rihanna is grateful that no one in her household was injured.

The singer purchased the Beverly Hills property in 2021. 

In addition, the private home boasts five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a courtyard, and a swimming pool, situated on a peaceful cul-de-sac in a prestigious neighborhood.
