Jennifer Lopez feeling 'very emotional' over major family change
Jennifer Lopez reveals she finally feels a sense of freedom at fifty-six
Jennifer Lopez has declared she is entering a "happy era", revealing that she feels truly free for the first time in her life. In a candid interview with Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday, the 56-year-old artist reflected on her current state of peace and the personal growth she has experienced over recent years.
The Atlas star expressed profound gratitude for her journey, noting that her daily perspective has shifted significantly.
“Because for the first time in my life, I feel very free,” Lopez confessed, adding: “I feel very joyful. I'm very aware of things that I have learned along the way. I'm very grateful. I just wake up every day with a smile on my face.”
However, this period of personal liberation coincides with a significant domestic transition, as her 18-year-old twins, Emme and Max, prepare to leave for university.
Lopez, who shares the teenagers with her former husband Marc Anthony, admitted the upcoming departure in August is bittersweet.
Although she feels prepared to see them embark on their own lives, the reality of the situation has proved deeply moving.
“I found myself being very emotional about it. I've been writing their end of year letters… that you give to the seniors, and it's hitting you. It hits you in waves,” she shared.
Despite the emotional challenge of an emptying nest, her primary focus remains the well-being of her children. “All I want is for them to be happy and know that they always have a home. That's it, with Mama,” she added.
