Tom Cruise vows to 'always fight' for big screen experience
Tom Cruise shares a moving tribute to the theatres that shaped his dreams
Tom Cruise has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the cinematic experience and his lifelong ambition to bridge cultural divides through film.
Reflecting on the evolution of the Mission: Impossible franchise, which began with his producing debut in 1996, the actor spoke candidly about the series' enduring legacy following the 2025 release of The Final Reckoning.
In a poignant address from Rome’s Spanish Steps, Cruise described the global filmmaking journey as "quite extraordinary" and expressed deep gratitude for his career.
“It’s a privilege that I have never taken for granted,” Cruise stated, highlighting his desire to be more than a mere visitor in the countries he films.
“My goal since I was little was to make movies and travel. And not just be a tourist, but work in that world and understand their culture,” he added.
The actor emphasised that cinema serves as a universal language, uniting disparate communities through shared stories.
“There is a community that we are all part of — different cultures and ways of life, we all join together to enjoy cinema,” he remarked.
Central to his mission is the preservation of the traditional movie-going experience. Cruise pledged to continue advocating for large-scale theatrical releases, viewing the silver screen as a vital space for inspiration.
“It’s something that I grew up with, that made me and inspired me to dream and want to travel the world,” he noted. “It’s my passion to entertain you, and I will always fight for big theaters and that kind of experience for everyone.”
