Nicole Kidman shares hilarious ‘Big Little Lies’ kiss mishap with Alexander Skarsgård

Nicole Kidman has opened up about one of the most uncomfortable moments she has experienced while filming a romantic scene. 

The Oscar-winning actress recently shared that bad breath from a co-star once made an onscreen kiss particularly difficult.

Speaking on the Las Culturistas podcast released on March 11, the 58-year-old actress recalled an incident involving her Big Little Lies co-star Alexander Skarsgård. 

Kidman said the moment happened after the actor ate a falafel sandwich shortly before they were scheduled to film a kissing scene.

“I’m like, ‘No, no, no, Alex,’” Kidman joked during the interview, recalling how she reacted when she realized he had just eaten. 

“I’m meant to be into you and kissing you — put away the falafel now because the bad breath does not turn me on.”

The actress said fresh breath is extremely important when filming intimate scenes, adding that it can make or break the moment for her. 

According to Kidman, the experience was memorable enough that she warned Skarsgård not to repeat it.

“I said, ‘No more falafel. Not before you kiss, not before you make love,’” she quipped.

Kidman also admitted that bad breath is a major dealbreaker in general. 

She explained that even if someone is attractive, unpleasant breath can instantly ruin the moment.

“You could be the most gorgeous guy, but if you came at me with bad breath, I’m like, no,” she said, adding that she would not tolerate it even for a high-paying role.

Elsewhere in the podcast, Kidman shared a more positive scent-related memory, revealing that singer Rihanna is the best-smelling celebrity she has ever met. 

The actress described the pop star’s fragrance as “intoxicating,” joking that she could easily follow her around because of it.

Kidman’s candid podcast appearance comes shortly after she spoke publicly about her split from country singer Keith Urban. 

In a recent interview, the actress said she is focused on moving forward while prioritizing her family and their two daughters.

The former couple finalized their divorce earlier this year, but Kidman emphasized that maintaining a strong family bond remains her top priority.
