Jennifer Aniston shares the music that keeps her moving during workouts
The 'Friends' alum reveals her trainer curates the music that powers her fitness sessions
Jennifer Aniston said the secret to powering through a workout sometimes comes down to the right song.
The actress, 57, recently opened up about the music that fuels her exercise routine while promoting her latest collaboration with fitness brand Pvolve.
Speaking with People, Aniston shared that her workout playlists often shift depending on her mood.
“I definitely go through different phases,” she said.
At the moment, Aniston says she’s leaning toward classic alternative rock.
“I’m in a Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters and Nirvana phase right now,” she revealed, adding that those bands help set the energy for her workouts.
Music, she explained, plays a big role in keeping her motivated. If the vibe isn’t right, she doesn’t hesitate to skip a track. “Music is everything,” she said.
“If a bad song comes on, I’ll say, ‘Ooh, can we skip it? It’s not working.’”
The Morning Show star also enjoys mixing in music from the 1980s, pointing to bands like Duran Duran as part of her routine.
While Aniston knows what she likes, she admits she doesn’t personally build her workout playlists. Instead, that job belongs to Dani Coleman, her personal trainer and Pvolve’s vice president of training.
“I’m not savvy that way, to be honest,” Aniston said. “Dani curates mine. She makes it easy.”
The actress is currently promoting Pvolve’s new Jen’s Express Series: Arms & Abs, a set of short workouts designed to fit into busy daily schedules.
The series focuses on upper-body sculpting and deep core strength, with sessions lasting around 15 minutes.
Aniston said the concept came from her own unpredictable schedule.
“My schedule is all over the place, as is everyone’s,” she explained. “So we came up with these 15-minute workouts that you can do while you’re on a Zoom or watching TV.”
The series features six on-demand workouts led by Coleman and highlights the idea that short, consistent sessions can still deliver meaningful results.
For Aniston, the routine has become a daily habit.
“I’m always excited to keep spreading the word about Pvolve,” she said. “It’s changed my life so much in terms of my physical body and health.
It’s now incorporated into my day just like drinking water or having meals.”
