Comedian Bert Kreischer grateful to God after near-deadly tour bus fire
Brett Kreischer and his team faced a tire blowout, forcing them to abandon their vehicle
Bert Kreischer expressed his gratitude after narrowly sidestepping a catastrophe.
The comedian was relieved to be unharmed on Sunday after his bus caught fire the previous night while touring the Midwest.
Kreischer, 53, confirmed that his team was unharmed despite the fire and mentioned on social media that “Divine intervention works in unexpected ways.”
“Okay, here's the rundown on the bus incident,” Kreischer communicated to his followers on Monday while sharing a collection of photos showing the charred state of the bus.
About an hour after leaving a tour spot in Fargo, North Dakota, the front right tire burst and was “completely torn” off the wheel.
“Both bus drivers mentioned they hadn’t seen anything like it in their 35 years,” he stated. “We waited several hours, left the bus, boarded the crew buses, and headed to Cedar Rapids. That morning, our bus ignited on the highway.”
Kreischer, whose “Free Bert” Netflix series was renewed for another season on Monday, shared photos of the burnt bus with his Instagram followers.
“Everybody’s unhurt. The bus driver, Dewy, managed to escape in time,” Kreischer explained. “He said that when the fire started, within 15 seconds, the front section was engulfed in flames.
“Here’s the important thing – had we been sleeping in that bus, we all would have been trapped and not survived. We wouldn’t have made it yesterday.”
He remarked, “So, it was fortunate we had a blowout. It was a blessing. Each day, no matter the frustration, remember everything’s a blessing. Divine intervention works in mysterious ways.”
Although no one was injured, Kreischer and his team had to purchase new clothes after losing all their possessions on the bus.
