Jon Stewart is sharing his humor regarding the Timothée Chalamet debate on traditional arts.

In his first Daily Show episode following the Oscars, the political comedian contributed his take to the ongoing two-week controversy, which began when the Academy Award-nominated Marty Supreme actor encountered backlash for suggesting “no one cares” about ballet and opera and stating his desire not to be a niche performer.

“But as of last night, it’s evident that opera and ballet have triumphed over Timothée Chalamet,” Stewart commented after Chalamet lost the Best Actor award to Sinners actor Michael B. Jordan.

“No competition. A clear victory! Even before they introduced prima ballerina Misty Copeland during the Sinners presentation right in front of him,” Stewart added. “Bam. So, opera and ballet win!”

Following the misstep, an array of invites to ballet and opera shows poured in for Chalamet.

He was also thoroughly critiqued by his peers, some of whom had stronger words than others.

The uproar fueled online discussions for days and was even referenced by Oscars host Conan O’Brien in his opening monologue.

“Security is exceptionally tight tonight. I’m informed there are concerns about possible actions from both opera and ballet communities,” the former late-night host remarked.

During his segment, the late-night host featured a “panel of Trumps” composed of four different personas of the President — “President Trump,” “Donald J. Trump,” “DJT,” and “John Barron” (an alias formerly used by Trump) — engaging in an argument among themselves. At one point, a “Donnie” from Palm Beach called to suggest that the war would conclude “when I just know it’s time.”

“With all due respect to your instincts, should we really be assigning them more duties? It seems like they already have enough to handle with getting you up and down the stairs,” Stewart quipped.
