Miley Cyrus has returned to her iconic blonde wig to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the premiere of “Hannah Montana” on Disney Channel.

To mark the milestone, a special retrospective began streaming exclusively on Disney+ today.

The programme features Cyrus revisiting her character’s glittery wardrobe and engaging in an intimate conversation with host Alex Cooper.

Reflecting on the show's enduring impact, Cyrus expressed her deep gratitude for the series that launched her career.

“'Hannah Montana' will always be a part of who I am,” she stated. “What started as a TV show became a shared experience that shaped my life.”

The anniversary special includes never-before-seen footage and recreations of the original sets. Cyrus is joined by her parents, Tish Cyrus-Purcell and Billy Ray Cyrus, alongside a cameo from fellow Disney star Selena Gomez.

Cyrus noted the profound bond she maintains with her audience, adding: “I’ll always be thankful for that connection.” The release, which arrived at 3 a.m. ET, allows fans to relive the music and memories of an era that defined a generation of viewers.

Disney+ has facilitated this reunion through various subscription packages, ensuring the legacy remains accessible to its global fanbase.

Originally running for four seasons between 2006 and 2011, the franchise also spawned a successful feature film in 2009.

While Cyrus has since transitioned into a critically acclaimed solo music career, she remains committed to honouring her beginnings.

Following this special, the singer is expected to continue her work on diverse creative projects throughout 2026.
