Miley Cyrus' dad absent from 'Hannah Montana' anniversary premiere

Miley Cyrus’ dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, missed Monday’s premiere of the “Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary” special in Los Angeles — even though he was part of the trailer.

The star posed alongside her mom, Tish Cyrus, and older sister, Brandi, before being joined by their partners, Maxx Morando, Dominic Purcell, and Matt Southcombe.

Apart from Billy Ray, Miley’s younger sister, Noah Cyrus, didn’t attend. Miley’s brothers — Trace, Christopher, and Braison — were absent as well.

For this special evening, Miley shone in a silver dress, complemented by a crop top showcasing her “Hannah Montana” character, Miley Stewart, and finished off her look with a blonde wig akin to Hannah Montana’s style.

Billy Ray’s absence from the red carpet was notable after he appeared in the reunion highlights. The duo had reconciled after many years of family disagreements.

Miley and the “Achy Breaky Heart” singer, 64, became distant in 2022 following his divorce from Tish, 58, after nearly 30 years together.

“The split between her parents [has] strained her relationship with her dad, making it difficult to connect with him the past year,” a source revealed to E! News that October. “She is hopeful that they can eventually rebuild their relationship.”

The divide grew after Noah and Braison skipped Tish’s August 2023 wedding to Purcell — where Miley stood as her mom’s Maid of Honor — opting instead for a trip to Walmart.

Noah, 26, had reportedly been involved with Purcell, 56, before he began dating her mom.

The distance persisted after Miley left her dad out of her speech at the 2024 Grammys when her song “Flowers” won record of the year.

“To my mom, my sister, my love, my besties for making me look this great,” she said, referencing Tish, Brandi, Morando, and her stylists, respectively.

A source told Page Six in January 2025 that Miley was “uninterested” in fixing her bond with her dad and had “approved” her brother Trace publicly urging him to seek professional help after his poor performance at President Trump’s post-inauguration Liberty Ball.

The “Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special” is available to stream on Disney+ and Hulu starting Tuesday.
