Jennifer Lopez's sharp response to fan named 'Ben'
The 'On the Floor' singer commented as she invited an audience member to join herself
Jennifer Lopez jokingly referenced her divorce from Ben Affleck during an energetic Las Vegas Residency show over the weekend with a sharp quip to a fan named "Ben" who joined her onstage.
"Take a look at this man," the "On the Floor" singer commented as she invited an audience member to join herself and her dancers, captured in a video posted by DeuxMoi on Monday.
"We'll take him for everything he's worth," she humorously added.
Once the fan made his way to Lopez, she inquired about his name. When he announced into the microphone that his name is Ben.
Lopez reacted with a brief “ugh!” and grimaced before laughing off the moment and directing the fan behind the scene.
This isn't Lopez's first time lightheartedly addressing her past relationships. Earlier this month, the "Let's Get Loud" performer, 56, showed her sense of humor by making a joke about her separation from Marc Anthony during her Las Vegas show.
"By the time of my third divorce, that's when I actually got good at it," Lopez jested about her marriage to the Puerto Rican artist, whom she parted ways with in 2014.
"Really, that's not amusing," the Grammy nominee continued, according to video available online, noting that "it was truly a challenging period."
After their split, Lopez—who initially dated Affleck between 2002 and 2004—rekindled her romance with the "Good Will Hunting" actor in April 2021. They married the following year, but by August 2024, Lopez filed for divorce.
In an October 2024 interview with Nikki Glaser for Interview Magazine, Lopez told the comedian she doesn't regret her choice to part with the actor.
“Not for a moment,” she confessed. “That doesn’t mean it almost didn’t do me in completely. It nearly did. But standing here now, I think, ‘Wow, it was exactly what I needed. Thank you, God. I regret it took me this long. I apologize for the many instances you had to bring me here.’“
In her latest update, the “Hustlers” actress expressed she’s in her “joyful period” now, two years post her fourth divorce.
“I feel, for the first time, I’m on my own; I’m independent. And it feels amazing,” Lopez beamed in a preview clip of her “Nightline” interview, broadcast on “Good Morning America” in March.
“I’ve reached the point where I completely trust and value myself more, instead of being overly critical and constantly trying to validate myself,” Lopez shared, emphasising how she “needed to pause everything” and take “a year off from her career” to fully recover from her divorce.
