‘Gossip Girl’ star Leighton Meester opens up about balancing family and career

Leighton Meester opened up about how she finds balance between her career, creativity, and family life.

The Gossip Girl alum and wife of actor Adam Brody, who recently launched a new fragrance in collaboration with Elizabeth Arden, shared with People that moments of “calm and peace” are what she treasures most.

“I mean, I wish I could say it was just calm and relaxed at all times, but I think I really appreciate those moments of calm because life just keeps going,” Meester said.

The 37-year-old actress and singer explained that balancing her creative work with family life is key to her fulfillment. 

“I have a family, and all of my emotional bandwidth is devoted to that, and that’s what gives me the most fulfillment. Allotting time just for me and then just for my family is vital, and it’s the only way to really give my all to every part of my life,” she added.

Meester also revealed a unique self-care trick for when she needs personal time amid her hectic schedule: an early-morning bath. 

“If I have a 5 a.m. call or something, I’ll be like, ‘Okay, I’ll do a 4 a.m. bath and get in there and do what I need to do,’” she said.

With her family, creative projects, and personal time, Meester said she has found a rhythm that allows her to thrive both professionally and personally.
