Tom Brady promotes moderation in diet during recent CNBC interview
Tom Brady reveals he enjoys Nutella pancakes and pizzas with his three children
Tom Brady has revealed a significant shift in his approach to nutrition, asserting that he now lives by a philosophy of "moderation in all things."
During an interview with CNBC’s Alex Sherman on Tuesday, the 48-year-old former quarterback addressed the long-standing public perception of his infamously restrictive "TB12" diet.
Brady suggested that observers have perhaps gone "overboard" with the narrative of his rigidity, explaining that his current lifestyle is far more flexible.
"I have kids and I have Halloweens and birthday parties and we’re like a normal family, so I try to make really healthy choices as often as possible," he shared.
The seven-time Super Bowl winner admitted that the "reality of life," including travelling through airports and attending sporting events, often means eating what is available rather than following a strict regimen.
The legendary athlete, who famously avoided sugar, dairy, and even strawberries during his playing career, is now embracing a more relaxed public image as a spokesperson for various food brands.
In a lighthearted revelation, Brady mentioned making Nutella pancakes for his children and recalled eating "Nutella pizzas" while in Milan for the Olympics.
He emphasised that while he still prioritises hydration and frequent exercise, he understands the importance of enjoying life’s moments.
Brady shares his three children—Jack, 18; Benjamin, 16; and Vivian, 13—with former partners Bridget Moynahan and Gisele Bündchen.
This transition comes as he winds down his TB12 wellness brand and prepares for his high-profile role as a lead analyst for Fox Sports, marking a new chapter focused on "creativity and connection" with his audience.
