OpenAI's Sam Altman allegedly faces second attack
Sam Altman was apparently under attack again on Sunday morning
Sam Altman was apparently under attack again on Sunday morning, as two suspects were detained after a gun incident at his Russian Hill home, reports The San Francisco Standard.
The suspects were taken into custody and accused of careless discharge, based on a police account of the case, referencing security video that seems to capture someone shooting from a moving vehicle at Altman’s residence.
This incident follows an earlier assault on Friday, where a 20-year-old was detained for presumably throwing a Molotov cocktail at the identical location. Investigations into both events are still underway.
The San Francisco Police Department stated that officers were sent to Russian Hill at about 2:56am PT on April 12th after receiving a report of “a suspicious event potentially involving gunfire.”
Two suspects were caught after it was determined that a car with two occupants had driven past the residence “around the suspected shooting time”—a camera recorded the departing car's license plate.
Searching the residence where the suspects, aged 25 and 23, took place resulted in the discovery and confiscation of three firearms.
“The SFPD is deeply committed to tackling gun-related crimes, and anyone engaging in such actions will face arrest and legal action,” San Francisco Police Chief Derrick Lew emphasised in a statement.
“I wish to express gratitude to our officers, whose quick response led to the identification of these suspects, their apprehension, and the removal of hazardous weapons from our community.”
