Hollywood actress accuses Katy Perry of sexual assault, alleges 'inappropriate touching'
Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau displayed affection at Coachella Festival
Pop star Katy Perry has been accused of sexual misconduct by actress Ruby Rose, shortly after the singer was seen attending Coachella with her reported partner Justin Trudeau over the weekend.
Rose, known for roles in Orange Is the New Black and Batwoman, made the allegation in a post on Instagram Threads, claiming the incident occurred years ago at a nightclub in Melbourne.
She alleged that Perry engaged in inappropriate physical behavior without consent, describing the experience in detail and saying it had taken her nearly two decades to speak publicly about it.
In a series of posts, Rose said she initially framed the encounter as a “humorous drunk story” but later reconsidered, citing the long-term impact of the incident. She also suggested she may be open to legal action if the matter escalates.
Representatives for Perry have not yet responded to the latest claims.
The allegation comes at a time when Perry had been making public appearances, including at Coachella, where she was seen sharing affectionate moments with Trudeau, drawing significant media attention.
This is not the first time Perry has faced accusations of inappropriate conduct. In 2018, model Josh Kloss alleged that the singer exposed him at a public event—an accusation Perry did not directly address.
The same year, she also drew criticism for kissing a contestant on American Idol without prior consent, though the contestant later described the moment as “awkward” rather than harassment.
Rose and Perry have had a strained relationship in the past, including public disagreements on social media.
Industry observers say the latest allegations have sparked mixed reactions online, with debate unfolding across entertainment circles.
