Kevin Federline supports Britney Spears as singer voluntarily enters rehabilitation facility
Britney Spears made the personal choice to focus on her mental wellbeing
Kevin Federline has expressed his support for his former wife, Britney Spears, following the news that the singer has voluntarily entered a rehabilitation facility.
Speaking through his solicitor, Mark Vincent Kaplan, on Monday, the former dancer shared his perspective on Spears' decision to seek professional help after her recent DUI arrest on 4 March.
"Kevin is aware of the reports that she has checked into rehab and that if she needs help, he is happy that she is getting help and that the decision appears to be one that she made and not one imposed upon her by others if it was," Mr Kaplan told TMZ.
This sentiment was echoed by sources close to the star, who confirmed to Page Six that the move was entirely her own choice.
The singer, who was taken into custody last month after authorities observed her vehicle swerving between lanes, is reportedly focused on a "dual purpose" of addressing substance issues and mental health.
Insiders suggest that Spears is deeply dedicated to her recovery, having recently spent quality time with her sons, Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19.
In a notable show of solidarity, Sean recently updated his Instagram handle to "Sean P Spears," seanpspears, pointedly adopting his mother’s surname.
While the "Toxic" singer focuses on her immediate wellbeing, her family remains unified in their support. This recent development marks a significant chapter for the star, who was married to Federline between 2004 and 2007 and has navigated a highly publicised personal journey in the decades since.
