The Duchess of Sussex has made a high-profile return to Australian television, featuring as a guest judge on the latest season of MasterChef Australia.

A behind-the-scenes video released by Reuters captured Meghan Markle entering the famous kitchen during her first visit to the country in eight years.

According to a report by News.com.au, the Duchess managed to "fit" the special filming engagement into a demanding itinerary as she toured the nation.

The appearance was officially confirmed by her representatives, who highlighted her commitment to supporting local talent.

A spokesperson stated: “As part of her first Australian visit since 2018, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, featured as a guest judge on the country’s most beloved cooking show.”

During her time on the programme, the Duchess took an active role in supporting the contestants. “Meghan mentored and guided our nation’s top home cooks alongside MasterChef Australia judges Poh Ling Yeow, Sofia Levin and Jean-Christophe Novelli,” the publicist added.

The judging panel for the current eighteenth season also features Andy Allen, who witnessed the Duchess’s entrance alongside his fellow culinary experts.

The one-minute teaser footage shows Meghan arriving in Melbourne and engaging with the amateur cooks in between her official series of charity engagements.

This television role follows her previous ventures into lifestyle and culinary projects since relocating to California.

Meghan and Prince Harry are expected to conclude their four-day private tour of Australia this Friday before returning to the United States.
