The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have brought their four-day visit to Australia to a poignant close, spending their final day in Sydney reflecting on "memory and resilience."

In an official statement released on their website on 18 April 2026, the couple’s team detailed an itinerary focused on the enduring power of community.

The day began with a visit to the Bondi Surf Bathers Life Saving Club, where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle met with first responders and survivors of the December 2025 Bondi attack.

They listened to personal accounts of healing and observed a rescue demonstration, which served as a reminder of the courage that emerged in the aftermath of the tragedy.

Continuing their commitment to the veteran community, the couple later joined Invictus Games competitors and their families for a sailing experience on Sydney Harbour.

Aboard the vessels, they shared stories with veterans against the iconic backdrop of the city skyline, reinforcing the bonds of the Invictus community.

The evening took a more energetic turn as the parents of Archie and Lilibet attended a Super Rugby Pacific match at Allianz Stadium.

Watching the NSW Waratahs take on Moana Pasifika, the couple met with players from both teams following the final whistle.

The visit, which was the couple’s first joint trip to Australia since 2018, was described by their representatives as a fitting celebration of "community, connection, and the unifying power of sport."

Throughout the tour, the Sussexes engaged with various local initiatives, focusing on mental health and youth empowerment.

As they departed Sydney, the couple expressed their deep gratitude for the warm reception and the inspiring stories of resilience they encountered across the country.
