Queen Camilla has honored Elizabeth II's steadfast devotion to the Crown ahead of the late monarch's 100th birthday, which would have been on Tuesday.

In a new BBC documentary, the 78-year-old lauded Queen Elizabeth II’s commitment during her more than seven decades on the throne.

"I believe duty took precedence over everything," Camilla stated. "I've never witnessed anyone with a sense of duty like hers."

Camilla also pondered over Elizabeth's extraordinary poise when she assumed the throne at just 25, after George VI's unexpected passing in February 1952.

"It must have been incredibly challenging, being among much older men. There were no female prime ministers or presidents. She stood alone, and I think she defined her own role," Camilla noted.

The Queen Elizabeth II: Her Story, Our Century documentary looks at how the UK evolved during Elizabeth's unprecedented reign, featuring insights from global leaders, family, and close acquaintances.

Contributors include former US President Barack Obama, Sir Tony Blair, Sir David Attenborough, and Peter Phillips, the late Queen's eldest grandson.

Dame Helen Mirren, who played Elizabeth in the 2006 film The Queen, also appears.

"She became such an essential part of our lives; it felt like removing a piece would unravel the entire fabric," Mirren expressed.

The new documentary examines how the UK changed during Queen Elizabeth II's unparalleled reign, with insights from global leaders, relatives, and close friends.

Sir Tony Blair, who was a close advisor to Elizabeth following Diana's death in 1997, discussed her calm guidance during that challenging time when the royal family faced significant public scrutiny for staying in Scotland with the young princes.

"She had a clear understanding of her role and what it signified, especially as the nation navigated difficult times," Blair said. "She wasn't 'a' Queen, but 'the' Queen. I doubt we'll see anyone like her again."

The documentary also revisits the Covid pandemic and Prince Philip's funeral in April 2021, attended by only 30 guests due to restrictions.

Although Downing Street offered to ease the rules for the royals, Elizabeth chose to follow the same guidelines as the public, resulting in one of her reign's most poignant images: the monarch sitting alone, masked, mourning her husband of 73 years.

Obama, who formed a close bond with Elizabeth following his 2011 state visit, reflected on her unique historical insight.

Sir David Attenborough, who will soon celebrate his own 100th birthday, praised Elizabeth's inherent authority: "It was ingrained in her being. She was regal."
